River was the first ever Grand Champion/Dual Champion of any breed of dog in Australia.

In December 2000 River achieved 1000 Challenge Certificate points to give him his Grand Champion title. After retirement from the show ring River began tracking. What started out as some fun with friends became very rewarding with River successfully and eagerly completing his Tracking Champion Title in just under a year. River to us was a once in a lifetime dog with outstanding temperament, conformation and a true example of the breed. In later years River loved nothing more to swim in “his” dam. He was much loved by all who knew him and passed away peacefully in 2007.
